Here we have a supposedly well respected "journalist" reduced to name calling in an effort to smear Trump. It's not about news, it's about advancing the liberal agenda, and Donald Trump is a threat to that end.
Also, notice how the caption frames the narrative, "Romney supporter under fire for birther views." CNN is not interested in news, they are only interested in destroying the credibility of anyone that supports their opposition, in this case Romney. They don't just say Donald Trump, since the average uninformed American may not fully get the desired outcome, which is that Romney is bad. So, they very clearly indicate that Donald Trump is a Romney supporter, thereby tying the two together in hopes of diminishing Romney.
That is what the media hacks do, they cannot win on substance so they go after character. Nobody is above their attacks, not even Donald Trump. This is the usual Alinsky tactic aimed at destroying the messenger's credibility. Unfortunately it can be very effective at times, and the less informed fall right in line.
